Insulation Checklist

[ ] Visual Assessment: Conduct a thorough visual inspection of all accessible insulation areas, including attics, crawl spaces, and walls.

[ ] Photo Documentation: Take clear photos of any signs of insulation damage which will be sent via email to the customer with WES copied.

1. ATTIC: * Required

Signs of nesting or burrows in the insulation.

Excrement or stains found in the insulation.

Torn or shredded insulation used for nesting found.

Insulation level and thickness is low.

Odor due to infestation is present.

Sagging, crumbling, or compacted insulation.

Rooms that feel drafty or have inconsistent temperatures.

Old or aged insulation.

Obvious water damage detected.

2. WALLS: * Required

Sounds of movement or scratching within wall cavities affecting insulation.

Obvious signs of water damage to walls.

Electrical outlets and/or light fixtures show signs of pest intrusion.

Additional holes created by pests upon intrusion present in walls.

Draft and/or unusal air flow detected through walls.

Elevated electricity bills reported by customer.

Soundproofing issues: customer reports exterior sounds louder than normal.

3. CRAWL SPACES AND OTHER: * Required

Damp or moldy insulation.

Gnaw marks, droppings, holes, and/or nesting material in insulation.

Structural beams show signs of nesting or damage.

Small holes in wood, drywall, insulation, powdery residue, or visible trails.

Tunnels and/or burrows in insulation.

Unusual airflow or movement between dividing floors or walls.

Structural damage, large entry points, heavy displacement of insulation.

*Estimate the severity and amount of insulation affected.

*Confirm the property owner has been informed about the findings of insulation damage and advised on the next steps for a referral to WES.
